Billy's Lodge
Hoedspruit , Mpumalanga and Kruger Park Accommodation

Ezulwini Billy’s Lodge nestles deep in the heart of lion country and is surrounded by magnificent Knobthorn, Leadwood and Marula trees. This small haven perches on the banks of a seasonal river, surrounded by an abundance of large indigenous trees. The lodge features ample lounge areas, dining rooms and decks, sumptuous leather armchairs, exquisite Leadwood sculptures and original paintings by David Johnson. Billy's Lodge also boasts one of the finest wine cellars in southern Africa, set against the natural rock face and resembling an ancient Bushman cave. It is the place to be if you are a wine connoisseur. This charming most exclusive lodge has 4 twin bedded chalets with en suite bathrooms, accommodating a maximum of 8 guests. The accommodation is modern yet traditionally African. Tranquility and exclusivity are guaranteed.

"Intimate, Charming and Exclusive" describes this Lodge. Facilities include a curio shop, swimming pool, thatched lapa, open air reeded boma, formal dining room, bar and entertainment area with small library, a brand new cave wine cellar, and a choice of three decks on which to relax, one of which is accessed by our skywalk, which is 10 metres above ground level and winds through the tree tops.
A day at Billy's Lodge's exclusive and luxurious safari lodge typically begins with an early morning game drive, in search of Africa's exciting wildlife and fauna, followed by a sumptuous breakfast on the deck. You can then go on a ranger-guided walk through the bush and learn about game tracks and all of the little creatures. Discover how the local people use trees to make toothbrushes and toothpaste, tea and coffee, poultices, etc. Alternatively relax on a cozy leather couch, enjoying the animals drinking at the dam, and the ever present bird life in one of the top birding areas in South Africa.

After a light lunch, relax on a comfortable pool lounger with a selection of wildlife books or cool off in the pool. You then head off for the afternoon game drive which will take you deep into the bush while the rangers look for tracks. Your guide will stop for sundowners, where you can watch the sunset, sipping your favourite drink, while you wait for the nocturnal species to awaken. Once the sun has set your guides will take you into the world of the night creatures, wanting to show you the elusive as well as common species.

End the evening by tantalizing your tongue with a wine tasting in our amazing cellar followed by a typical African Boma fire barbeque buffet dinner. And then listen carefully - when the sky is brilliant with stars and the night time sounds of wild Africa fill the air.
